Bob CooperBoard Chair

    Former Tennessee Attorney General Bob Cooper is a member of the Compliance & Government Investigations Practice Group in the Nashville office of Bass Berry & Sims. Bob was Attorney General from 2006 to 2014, serving during the terms of both Republican Governor Bill Haslam and Democratic Governor Phil Bredesen. Bob was legal counsel to Governor Phil Bredesen from 2003 to 2006. He served as Metro Nashville’s Director of Law from November 2019 to June 2021.

     

    A Chattanooga native, Bob is past president of Room In The Inn in Nashville. He previously served as president of the Tennessee Supreme Court Historical Society and the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands. He chaired the Southern Region of the National Association of Attorneys General and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County’s Charter Revision Commission. Bob was also a member of the American Bar Association House of Delegates and the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners.
